Investment analyst

Active Ownership Capital S.aÌ r.l, a leading European Investment Firm, is continuously looking for talented research analysts in our Frankfurt and Vienna offices.

The Firm’s investment strategy focuses on large minority as well as majority investments in publicly listed companies and has a flexible mandate that allows it to undertake private equity transactions or investments into any form of securities.

The investment culture combines value investing with active value creation - often described as “private equity in public markets”.

Following deep fundamental analysis, the Fund invests with a time horizon of 3 to 7 years and actively promotes value creation by optimizing strategy, operations and governance.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate with 2-7 years of relevant investment experience to join one of the leading investment houses in Europe with a truly differentiated investment approach.

The Role

The analyst will initially work closely with and support more senior team members on various tasks ranging from deal sourcing to due diligence and eventually, value creation. Key tasks include:

  1. Comprehensive market and company analysis of a wide range of investment opportunities
  2. Detailed analysis and financial modelling of potential investment cases and deep commercial due diligence (combining desktop research and work with external advisors)
  3. Development of first investment recommendations and presentation to the wider team
  4. Involvement in the creation and implementation of value improvement programs for potential investments and portfolio companies
  5. Monitoring of existing investment positions

Skill Set

  • 2-5 years in M&A, private equity, equity research (buy- or sell-side) or strategy consulting with market leading firms
  • 2-7 years relevant investment experience in M&A, private equity, equity research (buy- or sell-side) or strategy consulting with market leading firms
  • Degree level education from a top-tier university
  • Strong technical skills (analysis, modelling, financial accounting, process management)
  • Attention to detail and a hands-on mentality
  • Mature attitude and a highly ambitious mind-set with the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Real interest in becoming an investor with a sense of ownership being part of a team
  • Confident, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages are a benefit
